Hello darlings,

I think it’s fair to say we all love decorating our homes. There just something so fun about turning old spaces into new and exciting things. It breathes new life into your house and makes it a much more pleasurable place to live.

There are some rooms in the house that are more fun to decorate than others. Normally, that’s just because there are more things you can do to them. One really favorite room to decorate is the bedroom. This is purely because it’s the one room in the house a person can make his own. It’s very rare that guests will see your bedroom, so you don’t have to be conservative with the style. You can be as bold and out there as you like!

I’ve learned that it can be a bit difficult giving out bedroom decorating advice. At the end of the day, the way your room looks is entirely up to you. However, I can give out one critical piece of advice that everyone should follow. The bed is the most important part of your bedroom, period. It’s not the flooring, not the walls; it’s the bed!

Why? Well, I have many reasons to back this point up, don’t worry! I know a few of you are probably quizzing that statement right now. So, carry on reading this post and you’ll find out exactly why the bed is the most important part of your bedroom:

It’s In The Name

The whole point of a bedroom is for you to have somewhere to sleep. The secret is in the name, bedroom! Without a bed, it’s just a room, right? Seriously though, the bed is the main thing that separates a bedroom from any other room in the house. You wouldn’t have one in the lounge or kitchen, would you? It’s furniture that’s specifically designed for one room in the house. So, if your bedroom doesn’t have one, then it loses a bit of its identity. Think about it this way, if you’re viewing a house, you can normally tell which rooms are the bedrooms. Even when they’re not decorated, it’s easy to spot them. You walk into every room in the house, and they’re all decorated the same. The main way you tell what room is a bedroom is if there’s a bed in it! It gives your room an identity and is the starting point for all your improvements.

A Good Night’s Sleep

Regular readers of this blog may recall a post I wrote about sleeping. And, seeing as sleeping is one of my favorite hobbies, it’s rude not to bring it up again. Of course, the main purpose of a bed is for you to sleep in it. It’s one of the things that separates us from other animals out there. We like to go into a cozy room and curl up in a comfy bed. Imagine if you didn’t have a bed in your bedroom. Where would you sleep? Perhaps you’d just lie on the floor and sleep there. Or, you’d sleep on the sofa downstairs instead. You need a bed so you can have a comfortable night’s sleep. This is important because it improves your overall health. A lack of sleep makes you tired; that’s obvious, right? Tiredness can cause mood swings, low productivity, and a poor all-round standard of life. Plus, if you don’t sleep on a bed with a proper mattress, you’ll get back pain. Anyone will back pain will tell you that it’s no fun waking up sore every morning. Again, this is another reason your bed is the most important part of your bedroom. You need to ensure you have a good mattress, to help your health. Things like a Dreamfoam Ultimate Dreams memory foam mattress are a good idea. If you’ve never slept on a memory foam mattress then I feel bad for you! You have to spend plenty of time mattress shopping, as you need to pick out the best one for your body. You see, the bed isn’t just important for the look of your room, but also for your overall health and well being. You’ll be hard pressed to find something else as important as it! If you don't believe me go through about this mattress and you'll see.

Showstopper

If you like your cookery shows, then you’ll know what a showstopper is. It’s that one dish that grabs everyone’s attention. It stands out from the rest of the menu, and makes people go ‘WOW!’. What on earth does this have to do with beds and bedrooms? Allow me to explain! For me, the bed is a showstopper in your room. It’s the one thing that stands out and grabs people’s attention. As soon as you walk into a bedroom, your eyes drift towards the bed. It holds the entire room together and is crucial to whether or not your bedroom looks good. A bad bed can bring everything down and make your bedroom look awful. But, a good one is a showstopper and improves the overall look.

Space Consuming

The final reason a bed is so important is that it takes up lots of space. The bed you have with ultimately decide the rest of your room. If you have a small room and a big bed, then you’re not given yourself much space. As such, there’s not enough room for a big wardrobe or bookcase, etc. Choosing your bed helps you figure out a plan for your bedroom. It can also contribute to the feel of the room too. If you choose a small bed, it takes up less space and makes your room feel big. This is why choosing your bed should be right at the top of your priority list.

As you can see, the bed is more important than you might think. I fully believe that it’s the most important part of your bedroom. I think that once you get your bed sorted, the rest of the room will come together nicely. Plus, it impacts your health and ability to get a good night’s sleep too! So, make sure you don’t overlook your bed the next time you’re thinking about renovating your bedroom.
