My most popular amigurumi pattern to date is the one for my crochet amigurumi little stars! I wrote it four years ago when I was looking for an easy pattern for something to make as favors for my daughter's birth. During the spring of 2019 I published my sun amigurumi free pattern and it has received much love too! They are both easy patterns, perfect for beginners and people seem to love them! Finally, last Christmas, I took part to an instagram CAL with my crescent moon crochet pattern. Do you see the pattern here (no pun intended)? There's the sun, the moon and the stars. So what else could I make? Well, I made a rainbow, a cloud and some drops and put them all together to create a cute amigurumi baby mobile.
My goal is to write easy to follow patterns for crochet and amigurumi beginners. They produce a cute and satisflying result and (hopefully) are not intimidating! The drops are really easy to make just make sure to stuff them as you go since they are a tight design. The rainbow and the cloud are worked flat and then put together, so they are even easier that way!

I used a very nice cotton yarn to make this amigurumi baby mobile. It's the Must Have from Yarn and Colors and I got it from PsalidiCordela. The colors are truly amazing and the quality of the cotton leaves nothing to be desired!

Supplies
Yarn: Must Have by Yarn and Colors in 001, 012, 021, 031, 057, 060, 062, 083, 092. These colors will be more than enough for you to make all the pieces needed for the amigurumi baby mobile, meaning 2 stars, 1 sun, 1 moon, 3 drops, 1 rainbow and 1 cloud.
Ten pairs of 3mm safety eyes (or black thread if you want to embroider them)
Black thread and needle for the mouths
Scissors
Blush for the cheeks
Stuffing

DROP pattern
With light blue yarn (062).
This is a tight design, so stuff as you go using a chopstick or something similar.
Make a MC
Rnd 1 = 5sc in MC (5)
Rnd 2 = inc in every st (10)
Rnd 3 = 1 sc, 1 inc, repeat around (15),
Rnd 4-5 = 1sc in every st (15)
Rnd 6 = 1sc, 1 dec, repeat around (10),
Place safety eyes and embroider the mouth.
Rnd 7 = 1sc in every st (10),
Rnd 8 = 1sc, 1 dec, repeat around (5),
cut the yarn leaving a long tail and use the tail to close the opening tight. Cut and secure yarn.

RAINBOW pattern
Start with purple yarn (057).
Make a MC
Rnd 1 = 6sc in mc [6]
Rnd 2 = inc in every st [12]
change to blue yarn (060)
Rnd 3 = 1 sc, 1 inc, repeat around [18]
Rnd 4 = 2 sc, 1 inc, repeat around [24]
change to green yarn (083)
Rnd 5 = 3 sc, 1 inc, repeat around [30]
Rnd 6 = 4 sc, 1 inc, repeat around [36]
change to yellow yarn (012)
Rnd 7 = 5 sc, 1 inc, repeat around [42]
Rnd 8 = 6 sc, 1 inc, repeat around [48]
change to orange yarn (021)
Rnd 9 = 7 sc, 1 inc, repeat around [54]
Rnd 10 = 8 sc, 1 inc, repeat around [60]
change to red yarn (031)
Rnd 11 = 9 sc, 1 inc, repeat around [66], don't cut the yarn
Place safety eyes on the yellow stripe with a couple of sts between them and embroider the mouth.
Fold in half and close the rainbow with single crochets, stuffing as you go. Cut and secure yarn.

CLOUD pattern
With white yarn.
1. ch7, turn,
2. sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in the next 4 ch, 3sc in next ch,
3. (continue to the other side of your beggining chain), sc in the next 4 ch, 3 sc in next,
4. (you are now on the top side again) sc in the next 5 sts, *2sc in next, 3sc in next st, 2sc in next**,
5. sc in the next 4 sts, repeat from * to **,
6. sc in the next 7 sts, repeat from * to **,
7. sc in the next 8 sts, repeat from * to **,
8. sc in the next 11 sts, repeat from * to **,
9. sc in the next 12 sts, repeat from * to **,
10. sc in the next 15 sts, repeat from * to **,
11. sc in the next 16 sts, repeat from * to **, cut and secure yarn.
Place safety eyes between the 2nd and 3rd "row" of the oval with a couple of sts between them. Embroider the mouth and add a splash of rouge on the cheeks.
Make a second oval exactly the same as the first but don't cut the yarn (no need to add a face either).
Place the two oval wrong sides together and stitch together (stuff as you go) with a sc stitch.
Once your oval "pillow" is closed follow the pattern below:
*sc in next 2 sts, hdc and dc in next, 2dc in the next 3 sts, dc and hdc in next, sc in the next 2 sts**, repeat from * to ** for 5 more times. Cut and secure yarn.
Once all of your amigurumis for the mobile are made you just need to put it together. I put the rainbow in the center and the other like the way it shows in the photos. You can do your own thing though and even make more drops or more stars and more clouds if you like. Go wild and have fun making this cute amigurumi baby mobile! I hope your kids will like it!
